Vancity named Canada’s top-ranked financial institution in Corporate Knights’ 2026 Best 50 Corporate Citizens list
Vancity has been recognised as Canada’s highest-ranked financial institution in Corporate Knights’ 2026 Best 50 Corporate Citizens ranking, placing ninth overall among more than 350 large Canadian organisations evaluated for sustainable investment, revenue and growth.
According to Corporate Knights, the credit union recorded the largest increase in sustainable revenues among ranked organisations during the evaluation period, growing 266% from USD 4.69 million in 2022 to USD 65.23 million in 2024.
This year’s result places Vancity first in both banking and the broader financial sector in Canada, and second globally among financial institutions. The ranking also marks a significant rise for Vancity, up from 41st in 2025 and 13th in 2024, underscoring its long-standing commitment to social, environmental and financial impact.
