The right to family life is a fundamental human right. Refugees seeking protection are often denied this right – because families are separated en route or relatives remain in the country of origin. The AsyLex Family Team is committed to reuniting these dispersed families by performing free legal work. The BAS supports the organization with an extraboost on the crowdfunding platform Crowdify.

The AsyLex Family team is committed to ensuring that refugees can be reunited with their families or that separations can be avoided through intervention by the authorities. Separation from family can place an enormous psychological burden on those affected and lead to social isolation and economic distress. As the drafting of applications for family reunification can be extremely demanding and as in-depth knowledge of the provisions relating to the right of residence are required, many of the persons concerned need support.

That is why, in its daily work, the AsyLex is a volunteer-based association whose aim is to offer free legal advice to refugees in Switzerland, regardless of their origin, religion, age, sex, gender, family situation. and financial. More than 150 volunteers with skills in law, translation, IT, political science and international relations, social work, finance or other specializations provide most of the services free of charge. In order to guarantee the high quality of their work, several paid employees (including lawyers and migration experts) provide overall coordination and quality assurance.
