Bank Australia is proud to support an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice to Parliament
In 2019, Bank Australia joined a growing number of organisations calling for the full realisation of the Uluru Statement from the Heart.
In 2023, they have a generational opportunity to begin making this a reality.
That’s why they're proud to support the “Yes” campaign in the upcoming federal referendum to enshrine an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice to Parliament in the Australian Constitution.
First Nations people have asked to be recognised through something very practical and simple: a Voice to Parliament, which means having a say in matters that affect their lives and communities.
‘‘As a values-based bank, we are committed to advancing reconciliation and working with First Nations communities and organisations. We see the Uluru Statement from the Heart, and the path towards realising a Voice to Parliament, as important steps in the ongoing journey towards First Nations justice and self-determination," says Damien Walsh, Managing Director, Bank Australia.
