Discovering further joint potential and discussing future projects: With this desire and the associated curiosity, a board exchange took place between the children's aid organization SOS Children's Villages worldwide and the GLS Bank.

The GLS Bank board members Christina Opitz and Aysel Osmanoglu got to know the two board members of the Munich-based SOS Children's Villages worldwide for the first time: Lanna Idriss and Barbara Gruner. On a tour through the rooms in downtown Bochum, which are unusual for a bank - including a short sunbath in the garden - the two hosts explained the values ​​and goals of the social-ecological bank in its six sectors.

The management of GLS Investments, Karsten Kührlings and Marvin Mechelse, reviewed and looked forward to the children's perspective fund. In 2022, this fund was developed and launched in favor of children's rights in cooperation with the children's aid organization. In 2023, the financial magazine ECOreporter tested it for the first time and awarded it the sustainability seal.
