
Dhaka WASA has recognized BRAC Bank for achieving the highest online bill collection for two consecutive years.
BRAC Bank has secured the first position regarding Dhaka WASA’s bill collection through the payment gateway and Mobile App ‘Astha’.
The certificate of appreciation for FY 2022-2023 was handed over at a ceremony on March 10, 2024, at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka.
Md Tazul Islam MP, Minister for Local Government, Rural Development & Cooperatives, handed over the award to Md Sabbir Hossain, Deputy Managing Director and COO of BRAC Bank. Muhammad Ibrahim, Secretary of Local Government Division; Dr. Md Khairuzzaman Mozumder, Secretary of Finance Division; Prof. Dr. Sujit Kumar Bala, Chairman of Dhaka WASA Board; and Engr. Taqsem A Khan, Managing Director & CEO of Dhaka WASA, were present. AKM Faisal Halim, Head of Transaction Banking, was also present from BRAC Bank.
Over the last couple of years, BRAC Bank has significantly enhanced its Transaction and App-based Digital Banking capability by developing various value-adding collection and payment solutions, establishing payment gateway and API connectivity with a number of government enterprises, including the National Board of Revenue, Dhaka North City Corporation, WASA, DPDC, DESCO, Jiban Bima Corporation, etc.
