
vdk bank releases their 2022 activity and sustainability report
vdk bank has not only had an exciting, but also a profitable year. In 2022, the sustainable Belgian bank recorded a net profit of 17.76 million euros. That is an increase of more than half a million euros (+3.44%) compared to 2021. And that while NewB's acquisition and integration costs are already fully included in the 2022 financial year. The good results are due to the largest increase in lending over the past 5 years (+13.22%). But all other banking products offered by vdk bank also grew in the past year. The sustainable full-service bank is financially ready to grow throughout Belgium.
Key figures annual result 2022:
- Lending grew to 3.91 billion euros, the highest growth in the past 5 years (+13.22%).
- Funds in current accounts, savings accounts and long-term savings products grew by 1.84% to EUR 4.26 billion.
- The resources in investment funds, fiscal savings and unit-linked insurance policies grew by 1.25% to EUR 849 million, despite a negative stock market effect.
- Shareholders' equity, including the Fund for General Banking Risks, increased by EUR 21.75 million to EUR 379.02 million. This results in a solid capital ratio of 25.39%.
- The sustainable full-service bank in Belgium after joining the Global Alliance for Banking on Values, biggest climber in the BankWijzer of NGO FairFin and collaboration with NewB.
Leen Van den Neste, CEO vdk bank: “Our continuous investments in personal services and the prudent course we are sailing have led to new growth in financial results in 2022. Although our costs increased by 8.93% due to high inflation and increased energy costs and the costs of the acquisition and integration of NewB, our gross operating income grew by 3.17%. In the end, we ended our financial year with a profit after tax of 17.76 million euros, or 3.44% higher than in 2021.”
